ONNEC EXPANDS ITS STRUCTURED CABLING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME TO THE UK
Following from the success of our Irish Apprenticeships, which received nominations for the Generation Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award, Onnec UK has launched its new structured cabling apprenticeship programme in partnership with CNet, specialists in Technical Education for the Digital Infrastructure Industry.
The 18-month course will cover core technical skills required to confidently install, test and certify copper and fibre cable installations whilst working to the correct standards and best practices. Ensuring the desired levels of competency and confidence to install Smart Building technology such as wireless access devices, VoIP telephony, CCTV cameras, door access controls and biometric security systems.
Our apprentices will undertake on-the-job learning and benefit from one-to-one coaching with industry experts; they will also be supported by a thriving community with events, social and mentoring. Upon completion of the course, apprentices will gain a Level 3 – Network Cable Installer qualification.
David Buchanan, Onnec Operations Manager leading the structured cabling apprenticeship, said: “We are passionate about the next-generation of the Onnec workforce. As a rapidly growing organisation, finding and retaining the highest calibre of people is fundamental for the success of our business. Introducing apprentices to the team brings a broader diversity of background and experiences, providing our teams with a fresh perspective.”
We wish our newest apprentices the best of luck as they begin their Onnec career.
