We are proud to announce that Onnec has achieved an “Excellent” rating from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) in a recent audit — a milestone that reflects our company-wide commitment to responsible construction, sustainability, and the wellbeing of our people and communities.
This recognition demonstrates our alignment with the Code of Considerate Practice, which sets standards in three core areas: Respecting the Community, Caring for the Environment and Valuing the Workforce.
What is the Considerate Constructors Scheme?
The Considerate Constructors Scheme encourages construction companies, contractors, and suppliers to operate with greater care for their neighbours, the environment, and their workforce. Each of the three pillars is assessed on a 15-point scale, with a score of 9 indicating compliance and higher scores recognising best practice and innovation.
Environmental Excellence: A Perfect Score
- A key highlight of our recent assessment was a perfect 15/15 in the Environmental section, reinforcing Onnec’s reputation as a leader in sustainability within our sector. We were commended for our:
- ISO 14001 accreditation, validating our effective environmental management systems
- Strong controls over materials and waste at both our warehouse and head office
- Adherence to all Principal Contractor (PC) requirements
- Adoption of renewable energy initiatives at our head office
- Active carbon reduction commitment with clearly defined targets and scope monitoring
